Cédric Flückiger est professeur en Sciences de l’Education et de la Formation à l’Université de Lille, spécialiste de didactique de l’informatique et de sociologie des usages. <p>A l’heure du tout numérique, la question de l’enseignement de
l’informatique dès le plus jeune âge devient centrale dans la formation
du citoyen du 21<sup>ème</sup> siècle. L’enseignement du numérique inscrit au socle commun des connaissances se décline sous différents aspects :<span>
considéré comme faisant partie des langages pour penser et communiquer
il fait aussi partie des méthodes et outils pour apprendre et soulève
des questions relatives à la formation de la personne et du citoyen. De
plus les cinq domaines d'activité du cadre de référence des compétences
numériques font l’objet d’une inscription dans le dernier bilan
périodique du livret scolaire des élèves en classe de CM2 et en classe
de sixième. Cela questionne donc les pratiques
d’enseignement-apprentissage de cette matière récente mais aussi la
formation des enseignants de l’école primaire.</span></p>

</p><p class="TACDTitresRsum" style="text-align: justify; text-justify: inter-ideograph;"><span lang="EN-US" style="font-weight: normal; mso-ansi-language: EN-US;">L’appel à
communication rappelle l’ambition d’une « meilleure compréhension des
situations d’enseignement ainsi que l’amélioration de la pratique de
classe » et de relations plus coopératives entre praticiens et chercheurs.
Cette préoccupation fait écho aux débats actuels, portés dans le champ
scientifique notamment par la revue Education & Didactique sur le statut de
la preuve en éducation ou, dans le champ institutionnel, par les
« recommandations » du CSEN pour « accompagner le confinement »
ou pour une « recherche translationnelle ». </span><span style="font-weight: normal;">Cette communication propose de situer ce débat et
ces injonctions dans la tension fondatrice pour la didactique, entre expertise

usages qui ont directement trait à l’enseignement ou à l’apprentissage, par
rapport à d’autres contributions de cette thématique, qui peuvent investiguer
d’autres outils comme les espaces numériques de travail (ENT) dans leur
fonction de relation avec les parents (Poyet, 2020) ou des usages juvéniles et
apprentissages hors la classe (Cordier, 2020). Les usages dont nous traitons
ici relèvent le plus souvent de l’espace de la classe, mais peuvent aussi
s’inscrire dans des dispositifs transversaux ou non-disciplinaires, du moment
qu’ils sont bien en lien avec les apprentissages et les enseignements.</p>

équipements. Nous ne nous intéresserons donc pas directement aux politiques
publiques, aux données relatives à l’équipement des établissements et des
classes, mais aux études qui décrivent ce que font effectivement les acteurs
avec ces équipements.</p>

contexte « écologique », <i style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal;">in
situ</i>, par opposition aux études principalement expérimentales, qui seront
abordées plus spécifiquement dans le rapport sur les fonctions pédagogiques
(Tricot, 2020).</p>

</span></span></span>Enfin, nous nous centrons sur les usages liés à
un contexte de classe et non pas sur les usages des technologies de l’information
et de la communication (TIC) dans leurs dimensions communicationnelles, pour
l’enseignement à distance, la mise en place de <i style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal;">communautés virtuelles</i>, le recours à des campus numériques, forums
de discussion, messagerie électronique hors des contextes de classe.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-left: 18.0pt;">Cette perspective tient donc à
deux déplacements conceptuels portés par la notion d’<i style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal;">usage </i>:</p>

</span></span></span>Un déplacement de la problématique de <i style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal;">diffusion</i> des technologies (dans la
perspective ouverte par Rogers, 1962/1995), posant le problème de leur « adoption »
ou « acceptabilité » à celle moins surplombante de l’<i style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal;">appropriation</i>. La première est plus
déterministe, les usages étant pensés comme découlant de la technique, dans un
schéma linéaire (Millerand, 1999, p. 8) Une telle
approche et pu être jugée « positiviste » (Boullier, 1989). La
seconde perspective, celle de l’appropriation, insiste sur le fait que les
utilisateurs n’adoptent pas les technologies passivement : l’usage est un
« construit social » et non « un sous-produit de la
technique » (Chambat, 1994a, p. 45).</p>

</span></span></span>Un déplacement des études expérimentales, avec
un contrôle des conditions initiales, vers des études des usages effectifs,
dans la diversité des situations et des contextes socio-techniques effectifs
des classes.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal">Dans cette contribution, nous parlons donc des <i style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal;">usages</i> pour désigner ce que font
effectivement les élèves ou les enseignants avec les technologies, en
considérant qu’il peut y avoir un écart entre les usages prévus et les usages
prescrits, et que ces usages se sont formés dans le contexte des évolutions de
l’école et celles des modes de vie. Les études qui se situent dans cette
perspective s’attachent à montrer comme les innovations technologiques « interfère[nt]
avec des pratiques existantes, qu'elle[s]pren[nent] en charge et réaménage[nt] »
(Chambat, 1994b, p. 253), en étroite
relation avec les imaginaires, émotions, fascinations ou craintes qu’elles
suscitent (Flichy, 2001 ; Rinaudo, 2011). </p>
<p class="MsoNormal">Appréhender les usages suppose donc de se donner les moyens
méthodologiques pour les appréhender. Les outils méthodologiques mobilisés par
les recherches présentées ici peuvent relever du quantitatif ou du qualitatif,
reposer sur du déclaratif (entretiens ou questionnaires) ou sur des
observations (instrumentées ou non par des captations audio ou vidéo), etc.
Mais rappelons que toutes ces méthodes reposent <i style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal;">in fine </i>sur un point de vue : celui d’un acteur, tel qu’il est
verbalisé en entretien ou dans un questionnaire, mais aussi le point de vue du
chercheur. Rappelons aussi qu’en cela, les <i style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal;">usages</i>
se distinguent de la seule <i style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal;">utilisation</i>
des technologies, car loin de renvoyer à un face-à-face entre un individu et
une technologie, les études d’usage les considèrent dans leur contexte, social,
culturel, et que l’usage est pris dans des interactions, des normes, des
représentations socialement partagées. Les <i style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal;">utilisations</i>
sont plus ou moins ponctuelles, les <i style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal;">usages</i>
sont socialement partagés. Pour certains auteurs, ils sont même « pédagogiquement
intégrés et institutionnellement validés » (Moeglin, 2012, p. 4). Toute la
difficulté dès lors est de caractériser et décrire un contexte qui fasse sens
pour rendre l’usage intelligible : contexte personnel de l’enseignant ou
des élèves, projet d’école, de circonscription ou d’académie, etc. Tous ces
contextes sont enchâssés les uns dans les autres et le choix d’expliquer
l’usage par l’un ou par l’autre participe également du point de vue du
chercheur.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal">Pris sous l’angle des usages effectifs, les études sur les
usages du numérique en classe apportent donc un point de vue complémentaire
d’autres approches, qui font l’objet d’autres rapports. On peut sans doute dire
que l’analyse des usages effectifs ne permet pas de répondre à des questions qui
peuvent pourtant sembler cruciales pour les décideurs des politiques publiques
(Fluckiger, 2019a), comme la question de l’efficacité des technologies
(Pouts-Lajus, 2000 ; Chaptal, 2009). Cependant, en parallèle des études
qui peuvent montrer que sur tel point particulier, telle technologie a ou non
des effets mesurables, les études d’usages mettent en lumière les difficultés
de généralisation, les changements méso ou macroscopique (par exemple dans la
gestion de la classe, l’organisation du travail enseignant…).</p>
<p class="MsoNormal">Précisons enfin que toutes les technologies numériques
abordées dans ce rapport ont fait l’objet d’une très abondante littérature,
tant anglo-saxonne que francophone. Comme le fait remarquer Train (2013) pour
le cas du TNI, les premières publications sont souvent le fait de « praticiens
acquis à la cause technologique dans l’enseignement » puis par des
rapports gouvernementaux ou d’institutions internationales qui se situent, dans
l’immense majorité des cas, dans ce que Collin (2016) nomme « le paradigme
de l’impact ». Plus que d’éclairer les usages du <i style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal;">point de vue</i> des usagers, il s’agit pour ces travaux d’apporter des
éléments de choix d’investissement aux financeurs et décideurs publics, en
cherchant des <i style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal;">effets</i> à cette
implantation. Les travaux présentés ici sont à la fois plus modestes et plus
ambitieux, en ce qu’ils cherchent à « dépasser un premier questionnement
centré sur le caractère fondamentalement bon ou néfaste de cette technologie et
de s’engager dans l’examen de questions concernant » les conditions
d’usage effectif, les facteurs qui les favorisent, etc. (Train, 2013, p. 67).</p>

mai 2020, un document nommé « Recommandations pédagogiques pour
accompagner le confinement et sa sortie »<span class="spip_note_ref"> [<a class="spip_note" href="http://www.adjectif.net/spip/spip.php?article541#nb2" id="nh2" rel="footnote" title="https://www.education.gouv.fr/csen-recommandations-pedagogiques-COVID19">2</a>]</span>.
Il formule un certain nombre de recommandations aux enseignants, allant
de « privilégier les pratiques pédagogiques qui favorisent
l’apprentissage en autonomie » à « assurer les fondamentaux : nutrition,
activité physique, sommeil, bienveillance » en passant par « rechercher
l’appui des ressources numériques ».</p>
<p>Ce document de 17 pages est étonnant, sur le fond comme sur la forme.
Un passage surtout a suscité l’inquiétude de chercheurs et collectifs
scientifiques<span class="spip_note_ref"> [<a class="spip_note" href="http://www.adjectif.net/spip/spip.php?article541#nb3" id="nh3" rel="footnote" title="http://www.atief.fr/content/avis-du-conseil-d%E2%80%99administration-de-l%E2 (...)">3</a>]</span> :</p>

<p>« Seule l’expérimentation contrôlée permet de vérifier qu’un outil
pédagogique fonctionne. Or, un nombre encore insuffisant de ressources
ont démontré leur efficacité dans des essais randomisés contrôlés. Dans
les années à venir, un gros effort de recherche devrait être mené dans
ce sens. Le CSEN publiera prochainement des recommandations sur les
types de recherche translationnelle qui ont leur place en éducation, les
différents niveaux de preuve qu’ils apportent, et leurs enjeux éthiques
et pratiques. »</p>

<p>Si, à première vue, la proposition peut sembler frappée au coin du
bon sens et parée des atours de la scientificité la plus rigoureuse, ce
qui étonne rapidement est la prétention d’une instance étatique à
décréter ce qu’est la bonne et la mauvaise science, qui n’est pas sans
rappeler les tentatives du gouvernement fédéral américain de légiférer
sur la « scientificité » de la recherche en éducation (Saussez et
Lessard, 2009). Ainsi, il y aurait des types de recherche « qui ont leur
place » en éducation » et d’autres, donc, qui « n’ont pas leur place »…
et il serait possible de décider lesquelles <i>a priori</i> ont « leur place » ou non<span class="spip_note_ref"> [<a class="spip_note" href="http://www.adjectif.net/spip/spip.php?article541#nb4" id="nh4" rel="footnote" title="Il n’est pas clair dans cette phrase si c’est parmi les recherches (...)">4</a>]</span>.
Une telle conception des rapports entre recherche scientifique et
pouvoir politique, qui distribue les bons et les mauvais points aux
recherches (et les subsides aux projets) est pour le moins inquiétante<span class="spip_note_ref"> [<a class="spip_note" href="http://www.adjectif.net/spip/spip.php?article541#nb5" id="nh5" rel="footnote" title="Cela d’autant plus que la politique du gouvernement qui a nommé ce CSEN (...)">5</a>]</span>.</p>
<p>Or, malgré l’invocation de la recherche et de la démarche
scientifique, le texte s’écarte de ce qui fait la méthode scientifique,
par son mode d’écriture, par le choix de son étayage théorique et les
choix bibliographiques, par l’absence de construction des objets
d’étude, des concepts et unités d’analyse préconisés, par l’absence de
discussion des limites et domaines de validité des méthodologies (ici
l’essai randomisé), par l’absence d’explicitation du paradigme dans
lequel se situe le questionnement. C’est pourquoi, en seconde analyse,
l’affirmation qu’a « sa place » la recherche en éducation reposant sur
des « essais randomisés contrôlés » pour « démontrer » l’« efficacité »
de « ressources » est une occasion<span class="spip_note_ref"> [<a class="spip_note" href="http://www.adjectif.net/spip/spip.php?article541#nb6" id="nh6" rel="footnote" title="Comme ont pu le faire Bart et Daunay (2016) sur le fonctionnement « insensé (...)">6</a>]</span>
pour les chercheurs de préciser les objets possibles de leurs
recherches, les objectifs qu’ils se donnent ainsi que les méthodes

« La didactique des mathématiques est la science des
conditions spécifiques de la diffusion des connaissances mathématiques ».
Tout didacticien des mathématiques connaît cette définition classique proposée
par Guy Brousseau (1994, p. 1). Ce qui m’interroge en tant que didacticien de
l’informatique, c’est qu’elle ne me semble pas fonctionner pour l’informatique.
Peut-on dire que « la didactique de l’informatique est la science des
conditions spécifiques de la diffusion des connaissances informatiques » ?
Car à l’école est-ce que sont enseignées sont des « connaissances
informatiques » ? Plus précisément, l’école enseigne-t-elle des
connaissances qu’un informaticien reconnaitrait comme informatiques ?</div>

J’ai été invité à présenter mes travaux, inscrits en
didactique de l’informatique, lors du séminaire national de l’ARDM, en janvier
2020, suite à mon Habilitation à Diriger des Recherches et à l’ouvrage qui en
est issu (Fluckiger, 2019). Ce texte en est le reflet, écrit dans une langue
plus oralisée et personnelle qu’un article académique. Il s’agit, par ce texte,
d’ouvrir un dialogue entre didactiques en revenant aux bases mêmes du projet
des didactiques : discuter de ce qui est spécifique aux contenus dans les
enseignements/apprentissages, spécifique à la nature même des contenus (le
type d’opérations cognitives nécessaires à son apprentissage, sa structure
interne…), à la forme que prend son organisation curriculaire à l’école, ou
encore à la manière dont les acteurs éducatifs (enseignants, élèves, parents…)
se les représentent, leur assignent des finalités, etc.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
Pour cela, je commencerai par revenir sur les différences de
statut entre informatique et mathématiques et sur les différences qui en
découlent pour leurs didactiques ; je discuterai ensuite du problème,
crucial pour l’informatique mais qui se pose pour toutes les didactiques,
d’identification des contenus (partie 3) ; je reviendrai sur la notion de
contenu et le programme scientifique qu’elle ouvre si l’on considère qu’un
contenu fait toujours l’objet d’une élaboration sociale et d’une
réappropriation subjective (partie 4) avant de conclure sur la possibilité d’un
regard critique en didactique (5).</div>

Identifier des contenus en didactique: un point de vue à partir de l'informatique scolaire<br />
<br />
Ma contribution au séminaire entend tirer parti du décalage (en termes de nature épistémologique, de légitimité, de place dans le curriculum scolaire…) entre nos disciplines respectives, informatique et mathématiques, ainsi qu’entre leur enseignement. Ce décalage permettra de mettre au jour quelques implicites du fonctionnement des didactiques actuelles. L’informatique scolaire est en effet un objet mal identifié, mal délimité, peu légitime dans le champ scolaire. Taper au clavier, envoyer un email, est-ce faire de l’informatique à l’école ? Quelles sont les possibilités d’une approche didactique de tels objets ? La didactique de l’informatique, en voie de reconstitution actuellement, est en conséquence contrainte d’expliciter ses objets et les contenus qu’elle juge pertinents. Cette identification de contenus, qui est au principe de chaque didactique, est parfois masquée sous le poids de l’évidence scolaire et des disciplines scolaires constituées : la didactique des mathématiques étudie « les mathématiques », etc. La question de l’identification des contenus par les didacticiens amène à expliciter le concept de contenu et sa portée heuristique pour les didacticiens. Il est certes une évidence pour les didacticiens que notre spécificité scientifique est bien l’attention portée aux contenus. L’informatique scolaire ne consiste pas qu’en savoirs, mais aussi en savoir-faire, en valeurs… Ces contenus font l’objet d’une double construction : élaborés, sélectionnés, transposés socialement, ils sont aussi appropriés, reconstruits, intériorisés subjectivement par les enseignants et les élèves. Enfin, la force des discours médiatiques et institutionnels sur l’informatique scolaire et le numérique à l’école pose la question de la portée critique des travaux en didactique, très présente dans les travaux originels des didactiques. <br />28 novembre 2019 Université de Lille (Campus Pont de Bois) Salle des conseils B1.149 (Bâtiment B, niveau Forum - 1)<br />Séminaire de spécialité organisé par Stéphanie Fischer et Cédric Fluckiger Avec le soutien de la Fondation I-SITE ULNE<br />Présentation<br />Cette journée envisage de mettre au jour les problématiques actuelles des recherches en littéracies académiques menées par des chercheur·e·s de différentes disciplines (linguistique, didactique, sciences de l’éducation) dans des contextes d’enseignement supérieurs divers (Brésil, Belgique, Etats-Unis, France, Maroc). Cette perspective théorique permet de rendre compte de la pluralité et de la diversité des écrits en contexte d’enseignement supérieur, ainsi que des processus de lecture et d’écriture qui y prennent place. Le pluriel des littéracies académiques renvoie aux institutions en jeu (université, établissements d’enseignement supérieur), aux personnes selon leur degré d’expertise (étudiant·e·s, enseignant·e·s, chercheur·e·s), aux pratiques de l’écrit (productions d’écrits universitaires, travaux scientifiques) et à leurs formes notamment numériques et l’avènement de l’Internet (Komesu, Assis, Bailly, 2017), etc. En mettant « l’accent sur les dimensions contextuelles, sociales et culturelles des pratiques de lecture et d’écriture » (Delcambre, 2012) selon la perspective des travaux de Jack Goody puis de Brian Street, cette journée permettra de saisir les enjeux des littéracies académiques. En particulier, se pose la question des pratiques littéraciques liées aux développements des outils et d’une culture numériques, qui induisent des évolutions dans les manières d’écrire, de communiquer, de chercher de l’information en contexte académique. Au-delà des discours prophétiques non étayés, il s’agit <br /> Argumentaire<br />de comprendre ces transformations en contexte universitaire, en lien avec les évolutions sociales plus larges. C’est en cela que les approches de la littéracie offrent un cadre conceptuel et méthodologique pour identifier et expliquer ces phénomènes. La journée d’étude s’inscrit dans le projet UNESP – CAPES PRINT « Authorship in Different Fields of Knowledge » porté par Fabiana Komesu de l’UNESP, dont la partie lilloise est représentée par Bertrand Daunay et Cédric Fluckiger membres du CIREL. en éducation : l’existence même du « numérique », ses effets et la
transformation des formations qu’il induit. Après avoir montré
l’existence de ces trois mythes dans un corpus de textes
institutionnels français récents (rapports parlementaires, texte de

L’annonce
de la réintroduction au lycée d’enseignements informatiques et

L’intervention questionnera la finalité des usages et de l’éducation au numérique à l’école. Alors que se font surtout entendre les discours des marchands, qui cherchent à développer le « marché » du numérique scolaire, en promettant des « effets » ou des « impacts » positifs pour l’éducation, il est nécessaire de faire entendre un discours critique sur le numérique en éducation. Face à l’absence de « preuve » scientifique de l’efficacité des dispositifs pour enseigner ou pour apprendre, les raisons de l’usage du numérique et d’une éducation au numérique seront questionnées, en lien avec la question de la finalité de l’école. Ainsi, la nécessité d’une éducation pour résister aux choix imposés par les GAFAM et leurs algorithmes sera discutée dans une visée de formation culturelle et intellectuelle.<br />
